Right away I have to come clean on this one. Not only did I shoot the photograph above, but this is a photograph of my dad.
I've selected the photos in this post because they are great examples of the power of portrait.
These two photos create memorable bookends of one mans life. The photograph on the right was shot in Germany in 1958 while my father served in the US army. (With Elvis I must add, as this is my father's claim to fame.) The photograph above was shot in my fathers work shop in 2016 while visiting my family in Michigan.
Some 58 years has transpired between these two photographs, yet the character of my father's wonderful boyish grin remains.
